The 1910s
In the 1910s, World War I was in full force. The 10s woman evolved from the Gibson girl as her skirt came off the floor. She had a softened waist and a more natural fit throughout the body. Her clothing was streamlined and more rectangular. Paul Pioret was the prominent designer of the time with his middle Eastern inspired designs complete with turbins and wrapping fabrics. Chanel also came to be during this time in Paris.
